Terms for the Purchase and/or Use of Online and Taught Courses
These terms and conditions apply to online training provided by Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church of 1401 Guelph Line, Burlington, ON, Canada (“Glad Tidings” or “we” or “us”).

These terms and conditions are in addition to the Privacy Privacy policy and apply to any Online Course and/or Taught Course taken through Glad Tidings. Please read these terms and conditions carefully before completing an Online Course and/or Taught Course and print off a copy for your records.
Please carefully read the following terms before accessing this site or using a course. By accessing the site (which includes, visiting, registering, purchasing or accessing a course) you accept and agree to all of the covenants and conditions imposed in this agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not access the site.
1. Purpose & Intended Use
This training was developed for volunteer Team Members and Staff at Glad Tidings in Burlington, ON. The goal of this training is to prepare our teams for working with Children & Youth specifically in the context of GT and its activities and in accordance with applicable laws in Ontario, Canada. We are not responsible for reliance on or use of available training, materials, and courses outside of this stated purpose and intended use.
2. General
- Glad Tidings reserve the right to change the content used at any time.
- Trainees who fail to complete the e-learning course in the time available will not be eligible for a refund (only applicable where a fee was paid)
- All rights not expressly granted herein are reserved.
- These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Governments of Canada and Ontario respectively.
- If you do not agree with these Terms and Conditions you must cease the course immediately and notify Glad Tidings of your intent not to continue. This may impact your eligibility to volunteer or work at Glad Tidings in certain capacities.
3. Training Materials (i.e. courses)
- The training material (All copyright, trade marks, design rights, patents and other intellectual property rights (registered and unregistered) and all content (including all applications and materials) is property of Glad Tidings.
- This training material has been prepared, maintained, updated and distributed by Glad Tidings.
- The use of the training material on our courses is restricted to the Registered User who has been supplied with the log in details by a Training Services Provider as part of an authorized course.
- The Registered User shall not copy, share, modify, transmit, distribute, or in any way, exploit the copyrighted materials provided by Glad Tidings other than for their own individual training. Use for any other purpose is expressly prohibited.
- The Registered User shall not permit anyone else to copy, use, modify, transmit, distribute, or in any way, exploit the copyrighted materials.
- Glad Tidings does not warrant that the materials will be error free including technical inaccuracies, nor free of viruses, or other harmful matter. The entire cost of any necessary service, repair, or correction, is the Registered User's responsibility.
- Glad Tidings endeavours to provide the highest quality content and, to that end, may make improvements, or changes, to this material at any time without prior notification.
- Glad Tidings will provide the materials, training, and/or courses with reasonable care and skill in accordance with the description set out on the Website.
- Glad Tidings reserves the right to vary or withdraw any of the Services described on the Website without notice.
- Glad Tidings does not make any guarantee to you that you will obtain a particular result, professional qualification or employment opportunity from your completion of any of the Services.
4. Accessing Training Materials via the Website
- In order to access any training materials on-line you must register for an account with us via the Website. If you already have an account with us, you can log into your account using your user name and password.
- When you access training materials via the Website, you are offering to access them on these terms and conditions. Glad Tidings reserves the right to cancel or decline your access in whole or in part at any time.
- Access to this training outside of the listed purposes and intended use (clause 2 above) requires permission and may require additional fees. Contact us to make inquiries.
5. Liability
- Although Glad Tidings aims to provide training materials to the highest standards, neither it, nor its trainers or any of its affiliates, agents, employees, directors, officers, third party content providers, successors or assigns accept any liability for issues arising from the incorrect application of this training, including but not limited to, use outside of the listed purpose and intended use (clause 2 above).
- Glad Tidings’s total liability arising from or in connection with these terms and conditions and in relation to anything which we may have done or not done in connection with these terms and conditions and the delivery of the training materials (and whether the liability arises because of breach of contract, negligence or for any other reason) shall be limited to the Fees received by us in connection with the relevant Training Materials, Online Course or Taught Course in relation to which a dispute has arisen.
- This disclaimer is applicable to any damage or injury resulting from the negligence or an omission of Glad Tidings, computer virus or other similar item, telecommunications errors, or unauthorized access to or use of user information through theft or any other means. Glad Tidings is not liable for criminal, tortious, or negligent actions or omissions of third parties that affect this site.
6. Intellectual Property
All Intellectual Property Rights in the Course Materials, Online Courses and the speeches made by trainers at the Taught Courses are, and remain, the intellectual property of Glad Tidings or its licensors, whether adapted, written for or customized for the Client or not.
- You are not authorized to:
- Copy, modify, reproduce, re-publish, sub-licence, sell, upload, broadcast, post, transmit or distribute any of the Course Materials without prior written permission;
- Record on video or audio tape, relay by videophone or other means the Online Course or Taught Course given
- Use the Course Materials in the provision of any other course or training whether given by us or any third party trainer;
- Remove any copyright or other notice of Glad Tidings on the Course Materials;
- Modify, adapt, merge, translate, disassemble, decompile, reverse engineer (save to the extent permitted by law) any software forming part of the Online Courses.
Breach by you of the above shall allow us to immediately terminate these terms and conditions with you and cease to provide you with any Services, including but not limited to access to Training Materials and Online Courses.
In consideration of the Fees paid by you, if any, we grant to you a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the Course Materials and the software in respect of the Online Course for the sole purpose of completing the Online Course and/or attending the Taught Course.
7. Confidentiality
Each party shall keep the other party’s Confidential Information strictly confidential and not use it otherwise than for the purposes of these terms and conditions, and shall return it on demand and not retain copies of it.
Either party may disclose Confidential Information to its legal and other advisors for the purposes of obtaining advice from them.
This clause shall continue notwithstanding termination of these terms and conditions.
8. Termination
We shall be entitled to terminate these terms and conditions and cease to provide you with any Training Materials or access to any Online Courses with immediate effect in the event that you:
- where applicable, fail to pay when due your Fees;
- act in an aggressive, bullying, offensive, threatening or harassing manner towards any employee of Glad Tidings, any teacher or lecturer who provides the Taught Courses or any student who attends any Taught Course;
- are in breach of these terms and conditions.
On termination, clause 5 (liability), 6 (intellectual property rights), and 7 (confidentiality) shall continue notwithstanding such termination.
9. Assignment
Any Training Materials or access to any Online Courses provided by us under these terms and conditions are personal to you and cannot be transferred or assigned to any other person.
We shall be entitled to assign these terms and conditions to any other company without prior notice to you.
10. Entire Agreement
These terms and conditions, together with the Privacy Policy and any Course Specific Terms and Conditions, are the entire agreement between the parties and supersede any prior agreements and arrangements, whether written or oral. You confirm that you have not relied on any representations in entering into these and any other terms and conditions with us. Nothing in this clause or terms and conditions shall limit liability for any fraudulent misrepresentation.
11. Law and Jurisdiction
This Agreement is subject to Canadian law and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Ontario courts in connection with any dispute hereunder.
